What a fun little book! The illustrations are BEAUTIFUL
John Barnicle,
Grandsons -7 & 9- read it together and throughly enjoyed the story and illustrations。
Margaret,
Animal friends work together A group of animal friends work together to take a trip on a sled to see the northern lights。 The story is told in rhyme。
Medeia Sharif,
In this gorgeously illustrated picture book, an assortment of forest animals come together for one mission。 Predator and prey get along to build something, and that something will make experiencing a magical night possible。 I loved the teamwork and the awe and appreciation of nature’s wonders。 I’m glad I came across this as an Amazon First Reads pick。
Cass,
An adorable story, especially having read it just after the first snow。 The illustrations are beautiful and engaging and do the storytelling justice。 My only complaint is there are a few difficult words for some younger audiences。 This story would be lovely for first grade and over。 Worth the read, a great family bedtime story!
KateChristensen,
great illustration and cute story great illustration and cute story Very cozy feeling and perfect to snuggle up and read with loved ones。 The illustrations really make the book and I love the rhythm and rhyming of the story
Theediscerning,
Definitely blueish, frosty and chilly, and yet so heart-warming – this narrative poem makes for a great visit to the cold lands of the far north while keeping us cosy at home。 It concerns a whole host of woodland creatures who forsake the fact they should be hunting and eating each other, and who cooperate to get to a sterling spot where they can… well, that would be telling。 The way the verse puts a problem in their way all of a sudden is in itself a problem, but apart from that it's really ple Definitely blueish, frosty and chilly, and yet so heart-warming – this narrative poem makes for a great visit to the cold lands of the far north while keeping us cosy at home。 It concerns a whole host of woodland creatures who forsake the fact they should be hunting and eating each other, and who cooperate to get to a sterling spot where they can… well, that would be telling。 The way the verse puts a problem in their way all of a sudden is in itself a problem, but apart from that it's really pleasant to read, and the visuals, heavy on the silvery blue of a birch forest (or some such) in the snowy night, are no less appealing。 A strong four stars。 。。。more
Jenna,
Sweet little story with amazing art!
Jacob Wilson,
I enjoyed this example of childrens poetry and literature。 The illustrations were great and it was a great seasonal book。
Suhailah,
Quick and cute Amazon First reads about a group of animals and the Northern Lights。 Something I’d love to see for myself in real life!
Stefanie Masters,
It’s so pretty! The Art: Gorgeous! I love the flow of the color scheme throughout the entire book。 It makes you want to curl up in front of a fire with your furry family members。 The Story: So sweet and rhythmic with its rhymes。 While some words maybe too large or hard to sound out for kids learning to read, the relationship of words in each sentence may help them to recognize them in the future。 A hard copy is all I want for Christmas!
Lynn,
The prose was melodic as it should be in a children's book。 The story is about all the forest creatures working together on a winter night to go see the Northern Lights。 The theme: if we all work together peacefully, we can have a fun adventure。 I was not crazy about the illustration of this book。 The prose was melodic as it should be in a children's book。 The story is about all the forest creatures working together on a winter night to go see the Northern Lights。 The theme: if we all work together peacefully, we can have a fun adventure。 I was not crazy about the illustration of this book。 。。。more

Bright Winter Night was a free book that I got for November's Amazon Prime reading freebies。 This was a decent children's book that did have some beautiful art and poetic prose。 Bright Winter Night was a free book that I got for November's Amazon Prime reading freebies。 This was a decent children's book that did have some beautiful art and poetic prose。 。。。more
Daria,
A lovely bedtime story。 Relaxing and uniquely illustrated。
Vanessa,
This was charming and sweet。 More information about the northern lights would be appreciated, but maybe it could be an extension activity after reading!
Rachel,
I'm an adult who read this to fall more into the festive spirit。 It definitely delivered! The story is in a beautiful and fun rhyming style and the illustrations are just gorgeous。 I love the color scheme used so much and the depictions really captured the verses well。 If there are any other adults who read children's books to feel the magic and the whimsy- I recommend this one as a must! :) I'm an adult who read this to fall more into the festive spirit。 It definitely delivered! Murillo Soranso,
A cute story of friendship and collaboration and working towards the same goal。 I enjoyed the author used rhyme to tell this story。 The art work is whimsical, almost impressionistic。 I got this as my first read from prime。 I’m not disappointed。
Landon,
Sweet AdventureThis is a sweet Children’s book of friendship, team work and adventure。 A good holiday bedtime read。 I recommend it。
kathy,
sweet children’s storyThis is a very sweet endearing children’s story。 The animals in the forest want to go and look at the northern lights。 They all work together as friends! They are making a sleigh to help them through the snow to get the northern lights。 I really enjoyed this tale! I think it would be a wonderful read for any child。 Also the illustrations are very captivating and easy to identify all the animals。
Reading with Cats,
Not a huge fan of the rhyming, which led to some forced-sounding and awkward passages。 Overall it was cute, though。3。5 stars
Readingcaptures,
perfect winter readLovely children’s book with an interesting story and well tied ending。 Makes a wonderful gift for the children。 The illustrations are stellar。
Amy Harth,
I loved it and thought it was a great winter poem instead of a Christmas one。 I thought the art style was still cute enough for my younger self while gravitating more toward an impressionist form normally associated with illustrations for older readers。
AddictedToReadingRomance,
great short storyIt’s perfect for a bedtime story。 My 12yo daughter and 7yo son loves it。 The art is amazing and the text was perfect for both of them。 It was like a poem。
Kelsey,
This book is beautifully illustrated and is such a cute story about forest animals working togther to see the Northern Lights。 I thought the rhymes were cute and did not find them awkward as some other reviews suggest。 To each their own。 Will read this with my son again。
Robyn,
Free | Sweet, and lovely gentle artwork。 Badly formatted for Kindle, would only show two-page spread in landscape format across the width of Kindle in portrait mode, with black above and below and tiny views of pages。 I've had kindles for over a decade, I know how to adjust my settings and the issue was not me。 Free | Sweet, and lovely gentle artwork。 Badly formatted for Kindle, would only show two-page spread in landscape format across the width of Kindle in portrait mode, with black above and below and tiny views of pages。 I've had kindles for over a decade, I know how to adjust my settings and the issue was not me。 。。。more
Shari,
Forest animals, prey and predator, collaborate in building a sleigh to go see the Northern Lights。 The author fell into the trap that all children’s books should rhyme, resulting in awkward phrasing and poor word choice。 The illustrator did a poor job of showing what the Northern Lights look like。 The book also needed an afterword explaining the Northern Lights。
Virginia,
Won a free kindle copy, and just read it to my daughter as her bedtime story。 She absolutely loved it and it was such a seeet story。
Kailee,
This book is absolutely beautiful。 The illustrations, chefs kiss。 The rhyming is a little rickety but still lovely。 My four year old loved it and asked for a reread and about what the northern lights were。 So fun showing him something beautiful in our world。
The Silvan Reverie | Sarah Street,
This is a charming picture book with that warm cozy feeling you really want out of winter reads。 The story follows a gaggle of forest animals coming together to build a sled so they can go and observe the display of Northern Lights together。 It’s a fun way to celebrate a wonder of nature through story in a way that kids will enjoy。 The text is lyrical and rhyming – it’s a great bedtime read aloud that has that feel of a classic holiday book。 Though, I appreciate that this really is about celebra This is a charming picture book with that warm cozy feeling you really want out of winter reads。 The story follows a gaggle of forest animals coming together to build a sled so they can go and observe the display of Northern Lights together。 It’s a fun way to celebrate a wonder of nature through story in a way that kids will enjoy。 The text is lyrical and rhyming – it’s a great bedtime read aloud that has that feel of a classic holiday book。 Though, I appreciate that this really is about celebrating the Northern Lights and isn’t specific to any one holiday。 The illustrations are cute, though I do think I would have liked for just a tad more realism in the style of animals and in the actual illustration of the Northern Lights display—just to give it more of that realistic punch。 There is a nice variety of animals depicted, all the woodland creature favorites, and it is fun for kids to imagine these creatures coming together for something special。 The underlying message carries through。***Note: I was given a review copy of this book via the publisher。 Opinions are my own。 。。。more
Jennifer,
